CONTA-CLIP has launched HYDH, an ergonomically optimized Hygienic Door Handle that is quick and easy to install. Because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, hospitals and other public institutions and commercial buildings have a greater need for hands-free door handles as a way to lower the spread of infection. Various manufacturers have launched products that are operated with the forearm instead. However, most existing solutions require screw attachment, can slip or tilt, or come in two different versions for left and right hinged doors. Therefore, CONTA-CLIP has designed a universal hands-free handle that fits left and right hinged doors with round, oval, or rectangular latches and that allows for secure attachment without screws or tools. Featuring an ergonomic jacket design, HYDH allows for comfortable use with the forearm or elbow. The one-size-fits-all clasp is simply slipped onto the door handle where it latches tightly. Flexible spacers facing the door keep it firmly in place even if it is pushed or pulled with strong forces. If fixed with the tamper-protection clamps included in delivery, HYDH can afterwards only be removed with a screwdriver. Made of durable, chemical-resistant plastic, the hygienic door handle withstands frequent disinfection with aggressive cleaning agents. HYDH is available in nine colors. In addition, CONTA-CLIP offers to provide individual colors, lettering, or logos for hotels, restaurants, and other customers interested in maintaining a uniform corporate design. CONTA-CLIP further expands its KES cable management program, adding the KES-E version for screwless mounting. The cable entry plates enable quick and safe feed-in of non-assembled cables and conduits into control cabinets and machine enclosures, without the need for cable glands. The new KES-E cable entry plate can be installed without tools thanks to the all-round profile gasket. The plate is simply pressed into a 36 mm x 112 mm standard opening in a cabinet or housing wall. The profile gasket's elastic inner sealing lip tightly curves around the opening inside the housing, ensuring a tight and vibration-proof hold. The initial KES-E launch comprises nine variants in “A” and “B” versions for cables and pneumatic hoses with diameters from 1 mm to 16 mm. The cable entry plates are suitable for wall thicknesses “A” from 1.5 mm to 2.5 mm or “B” from 2.5 mm to 4 mm. Depending on the design, these plates hold up to 48 cables or conduits, thus allowing for extraordinarily high packing densities. The cable entry system provides IP54 protection against dust and splashing water ingress. Its smooth surfaces, rounded corners, and ECOLAB-certified material resistance to industrial cleaning agents ensure the necessary hygienic properties for use in the food or pharmaceutical industries and suitability for ambient temperatures from -40 °C to +90 °C.

Developing the KDS-DES sealing elements for unassembled cables, CONTA-CLIP has transferred the simple cable entry principle of its KES system to its KDS cable feedthrough system: to insert a cable, the membrane of this, newest sealing element is first pierced at the marked center, whereupon the cable can be pushed through the selected channel. The design based on the proven KES system ensures reliable sealing according to the degree of protection IP54. The KDS-DES variants currently available accommodate up to eight cables, depending on the cable diameter, which can range between 4.5 mm and 10.5 mm. Despite the high packing density, KDS-DES sealing elements are compatible with almost all KDS solutions. Like those, they are pressed into the frame openings for installation from the inside. Their conical shape allows for easy insertion and reliable sealing of gaps.

CONTA-CLIP expands its range of accessories for the KDS and KES cable management systems, adding sealing plugs. The KDS/KES-VS plugs have a mushroom head that prevents complete insertion and allows for easy removal. They are available in diameters between 1.5 mm and 22 mm. The sealing plugs provide flexible and reliable sealing of feedthrough channels according to protection degree IP66. Their protruding edge provides additional protection against splashing water and dust. The plugs can be used to quickly seal KES openings that have been perforated; and they allow for pre-configuration of KDS sealing elements for cable assemblies that can be completed at a later point. CONTA-CLIP's KDS and KES systems enable tool-less configuration of cable and conduit feedthroughs and entries, as well as subsequent changes without compromising the ingress protection degree.

CONTA-CLIP adds new KDS-BP blind plates to the range of accessories for its proven KES cable entry and KDS cable feedthrough systems. The black screw-on blind plates are designed for quickly and reliably closing pre-configured enclosure openings with standard dimensions of 86 mm x 36 mm and 112 mm x 36 mm. The plates made of impact-resistant PA 6.6 feature an all-round injected TPE gasket. They protect the inside of machines or control cabinets from dust and strong jet water according to IP66.

CONTA-CLIP expands its cable entry portfolio, launching the KDS-R system for M20 to M63 round openings suited to cables with and without plugs. This new cable management system consists of a handful of basic components: the actual cable entry frame with an integrated gasket, a two-piece thread and locking adapter plus two-piece locknut to fix it in place, and sealing elements with a range of inlays. Assembly is tool-less, quick, and easy. Cables with and without plugs are simply fed through the enclosure opening and cable entry frame. Slit, tapered, finned sealing elements are fitted around individual cables on the inside. Cables with sealing elements are then pushed back to fit tight in the cable entry frame. I-, T-, and +-shaped inlays are available for M40 and larger openings, allowing for insertion of a variety of cable sealing elements as required. The cable entry frame as a whole is fixed in place by attaching a two-part thread and locking adapter to the frame on the outside of the enclosure and attaching a separable locknut on the inside. The special shape of the sealing elements ensures high IP66 ingress protection and strain relief working towards accordance with DIN EN 62444. The wide range of sealing elements for various diameters, shapes, and multiple holes offers high flexibility in creating wiring solutions. The tool-less system ensures that retrofitting work requires very little effort. Unused entry positions in the frame can be sealed with blanking plugs, which can be easily removed at any time to allow additional cables to be inserted.
